Custom Foot Orthotics
Fully custom foot orthotics, designed, fabricated and fit in-house by your Pedorthist from a 3D volumetric cast or scan, for clients across the Lower Mainland.
What makes an orthotic truly custom
A true custom orthotic should be made from a 3D volumetric mould of your foot in a non-weight-bearing position. We use a 3D laser infrared scanner in most cases, though foam impressions and plaster casts can provide similar results.
We also take measurements to help provide footwear advice and to sculpt your orthotic to fit your shoes even better.
Designed and made in-house
A custom orthotic takes a lot of work to create. At Next Step Orthotics, your orthotics are designed, fabricated and fit by your Pedorthist to suit your biomechanics, footwear and lifestyle.
Digital CAD/CAM processes and 3D printing give your clinician full control to make and adjust your orthotics in-house, without sending away for changes. This also allows unique design choices that aren't always possible with other manufacturing methods.
Your fitting
Orthotic fittings are done in person by your Pedorthist to make sure they fit your foot and footwear properly, and so they can be adjusted if needed before you begin wearing them long term. Orthotics can feel strange at first, but they should be both comfortable and functional within a few weeks.
Cost
- $100 Biomechanical Examination (mobile or in-clinic)
- $450 per pair of custom foot orthotics
- $550 total for your examination and one pair
There are no further charges for the initial services. Follow-ups and adjustments are free for custom orthotic clients for 6 months from the date of fitting. Afterwards a $60 appointment charge applies, and additional costs may be required for materials (all quoted before any work is performed).
6-month Fit Guarantee
While nobody can guarantee the success of a treatment plan, we will make sure your orthotics fit properly, comfortably, and are built to provide the function we believe will help you. If this is not the case, we will adjust, remake, or potentially refund them. The guarantee is valid for 6 months from your fitting date and includes 6 months of free adjustments if necessary.
Are orthotics right for you?
Your Biomechanical Examination decides that. Orthotics are one of several options, and your treatment plan may also include footwear and lifestyle recommendations. See what the examination includes.
