Pedorthic Biomechanical Examination
A detailed assessment of your feet and lower limbs, with a full treatment plan built around your lifestyle and needs. Available as a mobile visit or in-clinic.
What's included
We conduct a full assessment to understand what you need. This includes:
- A detailed history
- Weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing examination
- Functional testing
- Gait analysis
- A full treatment plan for footwear, lifestyle and orthotic recommendations as needed
Mobile or in-clinic
The examination is $100 whether it is mobile or in-clinic. Mobile visits run Tuesday to Thursday in the Tri-Cities (see mobile visits). The clinic is inside Station Physiotherapy in Port Coquitlam on Fridays and Saturdays (see the clinic).
What happens next
Your treatment plan may include custom foot orthotics, footwear recommendations, or other options such as footwear modification, bracing or compression stockings. One pair of custom orthotics is $450, so an examination and one pair totals $550.
For insurance claims
Extended health claims generally require documentation from your provider, including a Biomechanical Examination Report and details of the casting and fabrication methods and materials. Read more about orthotics and insurance in BC.
